I will tell you here and now. What I am going to say here iI difficult at times for me to do as it is for anyone of us.
Every generation wants to change things. Then, as that
generation ages and becomes entrenched in its thinking,
the next generation wants to change their way of thinking
and doing things. Conflicts can and do arise over disagreements. Both the old and the young need to learn, accept, and practice. the natural truth that no generation has cornered the market on truth.
All generations have much to learn from each other.
We must all be willing to listen to one another in all matters,
everything from church to politics to law; how we define church
or our civil liberties and how we live our daily lives.
The scripture says, “For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ, have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male or female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:26-28, ESV).
In this life, we all live with differences. If we act only by the differences, then our actions will always be divergent.
In Christ, we learn and live beyond those differences. We
recognize and embrace our differences but that does not
mold our thinking and determine our actions. The mind, spirit,
life and truth of Christ does.
And that is how there is unity in our fellowship. This is how we may all be one no matter what generation we belong.
